1. Who We Are
pitche.co ("pitche.co", "we", "us", "our") is a European campsite booking platform currently in market research phase. We are the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy.
Contact us at any time: contact@pitche.co
2. Data We Collect and When
We collect personal data in two contexts:
a) Early-access waitlist
When you join our waitlist we collect:
- First name — to address you personally
- Email address — to contact you before launch
- Campsite name — to understand your business context
- Country — to prioritise launch regions
- Consent record — timestamp of your agreement to be contacted
b) Market research survey
When you complete our survey (via a personalised link) we collect:
- Email address — derived from your invitation link to associate your response
- Campsite name and country — from your invitation record
- Survey answers — your responses to questions about pitch count, booking systems, OTA platforms, commission pain points, occupancy rates, feature priorities, and willingness to pay
- Contact email — only if you voluntarily provide it when opting in as a beta tester
- Language and submission timestamp
3. Legal Basis for Processing
| Processing activity | Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6) |
|---|---|
| Sending pre-launch updates to waitlist subscribers | Consent — Art. 6(1)(a) |
| Processing survey responses for market research | Legitimate interest — Art. 6(1)(f) |
| Contacting beta testers who provided their email | Consent — Art. 6(1)(a) |
| Maintaining records of unsubscribe requests | Legal obligation — Art. 6(1)(c) |
Where we rely on legitimate interest, we have assessed that our interest in understanding the European campsite market does not override your rights and freedoms, given the limited sensitivity of the data and the voluntary nature of participation.
4. How We Use Your Data
- To send you updates about the pitche.co platform ahead of launch
- To analyse aggregated market research data and improve our product
- To contact you as a beta tester if you opted in
- To honour unsubscribe and deletion requests
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
5. Data Retention
| Data | Retention period |
|---|---|
| Waitlist signups | 24 months from sign-up, or until you unsubscribe |
| Survey responses (anonymised aggregates) | Indefinitely for research purposes |
| Survey responses (identifiable) | 12 months from submission |
| Beta tester contact emails | Until the beta programme concludes or you withdraw consent |
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We may share data only with:
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — our servers are hosted on cloud infrastructure within the European Economic Area (EEA). These providers act as data processors under a Data Processing Agreement and may not use your data for their own purposes.
- Law enforcement or regulatory authorities — where required by applicable law.
7. International Data Transfers
Your personal data is stored and processed within the EEA. If at any point we use a service provider outside the EEA, we will ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission) and will update this policy accordingly.
8. Your Rights Under GDPR
As a resident of the EU/EEA you have the following rights:
- Right of access (Art. 15) — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification (Art. 16) — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Right to erasure (Art. 17) — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Right to restriction (Art. 18) — ask us to limit how we use your data
- Right to data portability (Art. 20) — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Right to object (Art. 21) — object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing
To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@pitche.co. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority. In France: CNIL (cnil.fr). In Germany: your relevant state DPA. In the Netherlands: AP (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl). In Italy: Garante (garanteprivacy.it). In Spain: AEPD (aepd.es).
9. Cookies and Tracking
pitche.co does not use advertising trackers, third-party analytics, or non-essential cookies. We use only the session storage of your browser (a client-side mechanism that does not leave your device) to temporarily save your survey progress so you can resume if you reload the page. This data is cleared when you close your browser tab or complete the survey.
10. Children's Privacy
Our services are directed at campsite owners and operators. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us immediately.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will notify waitlist subscribers by email. Continued use of our services after the update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
